The look at Nicole Miller's Fall 2015 show was both edgy and chic. Her pieces were debuted February 13 at Lincoln Center. The designer was inspired by mythical arts and mysteries of the dark forest when it came to creating her collection. As always, her combination of prints and color didn't disappoint!
The hair, created by Edward Tricomi of the Warren-Tricomi salon. The smokey eye makeup was created by non other than James Kaliardos, using MAC Cosmetics. It's a new type of smokey eye because it is brown, instead of black.
"Nicole and I collaborate when it comes to the girls' makeup" Kaliardos said. "It doesn't usually take too long because Nicole knows what she likes and I know Nicole. We've been working with each other long enough so I can kind of nail it. With some designers sometimes it's a struggle because what they have in their head is sometimes hard to explain. It's fun with Nicole though. When you're in sync with a designer, the process is creative and fun, even if it takes a while".
Butter LONDON Global Color Ambassador, Katie Jane Hughes, created nails inspired by a mythical forest. The color is composed of one coat of butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Union Jack Black, and then one coat of butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Racing Green.
"It's like using black underneath anything shear, it makes it opaque and darker" said Katie. "However, someone made a good point earlier, 'what if you put a darker shade over a lighter shade?'. It all depends on the oppacity of the top shade. If it's shear, it works. If it's opaque, it will cancel out the bottom color completely. So it's just a case of playing around with color and having fun with it!"
